One of South Africa’s most experienced and respected managers in the cement and concrete industries, Neville Wearne, has joined Chryso South Africa as Project Manager: Concrete Aesthetics.
Prior to his new appointment, Wearne was Marketing Project Manager for Lafarge SA, a company he joined in 2005 and served in various capacities including in Paris in 2013 as Industrial Performance Director with responsibilities extending to a dozen foreign countries, including China, Vietnam and Malaysia. Other posts held at Lafarge included National Marketing Manager, as well as Product and Area Manager in KZN.
During a life-long career in the cement and concrete industry, Wearne was also;
Assistant Quality Manager of Holcim Aggregate and Readymix in Durban;
Area Sales Manager for W.R. Grace in KZN; and
Quality and Branch Manager for Readymix Concrete in Botswana.
Wearne’s involvement in concrete started in 1982 when he assumed an assistant managerial role at a family-owned readymix concrete business in Vryheid in the Free State.
