The leading cement supplier in southern Africa, PPC Ltd remains dedicated in its mission to help create affordable housing in South Africa. The company was a platinum sponsor of the Southern African Housing Foundation’s (SAHF) International Housing Conference, Exhibition and Housing Awards which was held in September.
The conference, themed “Affordable Housing Opportunities for Southern Africa” was geared to provide a platform for critical debate on Social Housing. Seeking to address key issues faced in South Africa by offering international perspective and highlighting important issues pertaining to the delivery of affordable housing.
PPC Managing Director of Cement RSA (joint), Mr. Richard Tomes together with Executive for Special Projects, Mr Yogesh Narsing presented “Changing lives through housing – PPC Initiative” sharing insights and key learnings from PPC’s Employee Housing Support Initiative. “The PPC Employee Housing Support Initiative empowers employees to make informed financial choices and successfully manage their newly acquired homeowner’s status. Our employees will find the land or an existing home that they wish to purchase, apply for a bond and a government subsidy and put up some of their own savings for their new homes. PPC will do everything in their power to make sure the deal will be possible and affordable for the beneficiaries,” said Narsing.
