Abland opens The Reef Shopping Centre in Albemarle, Germiston

26 October 2018

Abland, one of South Africa’s leading property developers for over 30 years, opened The Reef Shopping Centre in Albemarle Thursday 25 October 2018 on behalf of Pod Property Fund. The centre will cater to the needs of and provide great convenience to the surrounding community.

The total development is 15 500m² with anchor tenants to include popular chains such as Checkers, the Food Lovers Market, Dischem and West Pack Lifestyle just to name a few.  Ideally located just off Black Reef Road, between Alberton and Germiston, the centre is easily accessible from the highway and is a visual standout in the area.

“It is very important to us that the centre is embedded in the community and is able to further the convenience of the surrounding communities. To facilitate this, we have invested on roads, storm water and electricity related systems. Through these efforts, we hope to not only ensure the experience of those visiting the centre is as seamless as possible but that the infrastructure in the surrounding area will be improved as a result,” says Emile Levin, Project Manager, Abland.

The centre was built with the immediate community in mind and will provide plentiful options to eat, drink and shop. From popular drive-thru’s and retail vendors, the services and products provided at the centre will become the ideal choice for both retail accessibility and therapy.

“Prior to the development we had identified a clear need for a cohesive, community centre in the area. As such, throughout the entire development, our objectives have been very clear; we wanted to build a shopping centre that would fulfil the wants and needs of its visitors, act as a place to bring families and communities together, and be a centre that the community of Albemarle and surrounding areas would be proud to have in their area,” concludes Levin.
