PPC South Africa has resumed operations following the recent Regulation issued by Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, in terms of section 27(2) of the Disaster Management Act, 2002 on 29th April 2020. As a leading supplier of cement and related products in southern Africa, we will continue to implement social distancing that forms part of our preventative measures to safeguard the health and wellness of all our stakeholders.
While operating with 50% maximum employee complement as detailed in level 4 of the five-level lockdown protocols, PPC has established a sanitary baseline across its operations to ensure hygiene standards are adhered to. Individuals who visit our premises are required to be wearing the relevant COVID-19 PPE in addition to complying with PPC Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) conditions.
We remain focused on driving compliance to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization (WHO), Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for addressing cases of COVID-19: as detailed by Minerals Council South Africa and the Department of Health. This will ensure we have the capacity to continue to serve the needs of the country fully during the global pandemic period and beyond.
